Miguel Attah is the founder and principal attorney of the firm. He has for many years led much of the firm’s work on oil and gas, power and mining.
Miguel has broad experience in mining and energy issues, corporate transactions and their related security arrangements. He has unrivalled local knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting the mining and energy sectors in Ghana.
Miguel has worked on several marquee deals on the Ghanaian market and is a highly regarded corporate lawyer both in Ghana and abroad and has a passionate commitment to providing commercial solutions to client concerns.
Miguel graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon with LL.B. in 1973; Ghana Law School (QCL.,1975). He did Post Graduate Research on Mining Concessions Law, 1874 -1962 at Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he was awarded the J. Donaldson Bye-Fellowship, 1978-1979. After Cambridge, Miguel worked as an Assistant Program Officer in the International Human Rights at the Ford Foundation, New York between 1982-1984.
He then worked as a Foreign Associate with Shearman & Sterling, LLP, and New York from 1984 -1986, he worked in teams involved in international LNG arbitration, and then bank finance. Miguel returned to Ghana in 1988 and set up the firm, which has grown to 8 Partners and 35 Associates.
Miguel’s personal focus is on (a) his wife and 3 children; (b) reading socio-political stuff, (c) researching Ghana legal history; (d) playing, or rather trying to play, classical piano music, and (e) watching terrible action movies.
Seth Asante is the Managing Partner and Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice group. He leads a strongly dedicated team of lawyers who are committed to excellence, diligence and hard work. He has 23 years’ experience in legal practice.
Aside his work as a lawyer, Seth manages the affairs of the firm assiduously, ensuring that every department is functioning for the continuous development of the firm and society. His skills as manager and administrator have jointly contributed towards the high rankings the firm has attained in both local and international circles.
Seth is a member of the Ghana Bar Association. He has served on the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, and as the Regional Vice-Chair for Europe/Middle East/Africa of the Lex Mundi Managing Partners Committee. He has also worked as the General Manager of the Data Centa Limited, a subsidiary of our firm. In addition, Seth has served on various boards and advisory committees nationwide.
Seth graduated from the University of Ghana in 1990 with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). After which he enrolled into the Ghana School of Law leaving with a Qualification Certificate in Law in 1992. From 1993-1994, he further pursued a Masters of Laws (LL.M) focusing on International Taxation at the Queen’s University in Canada.
From the late 80’s to the millennium years Seth has taken up varied teaching and legal focused assignments whilst working with the University of Ghana, Legon and the Queens University, Canada where he has worked a research assistant and Lecturer.
Seth has therefore become an acknowledged leader in litigation and dispute resolution, possessing wide experience in the practice and in the teaching of Company Law, Tax Law and Civil Litigation & Procedure.
Stacy is a Partner of the law firm of Prestige Chambers and Heads the Pensions, Employment & Immigration Practice Group of the firm. Stacy has over thirteen (13) years’ experience in legal practice. Stacy specialises in employment, labour, pensions and immigration laws. She is described in the 2013 edition of International Financial Law Review (IFLR) as a “Rising Star”.
Stacy has broad experience in employment issues arising from corporate transactions, day to day advice on general employment issues and has worked on several high-value transactions for both international and local corporations.
Stacy was an Assistant State Attorney at the Serious Fraud Office in the Attorney-General’s Department. She had her Pupillage at Prestige Chambers and rose through the ranks of an Associate, Senior Associate and a Partner.
Angela was awarded a certificate of Merit by the Student’s Representative Council, Ghana School of Law, in recognition of service as Organising Secretary of the Student’s Representative Council 2000/2001 academic year.
